Open Space & Land Use Planning
The Fairwood Community Group can capitalize on neighborhood connections to voice local interests effecting positive change such as past initiatives that mitigated KC Parks light pollution (Petrovsky Park), down zoning sensitive areas, acting on KC boards improve open space and critical areas, expansion of parks, trails, land conservation, and identifying concerns on local habitat impact.

Our nonprofit is dedicated to strengthening community engagement and fostering thoughtful development that aligns with local priorities. We have collaborate with King County Parks, King County Department of development and land use, Growth Management Plan representative, government officials, and volunteer on the Conservation Futures Advisory Committee (CFAC). By working alongside residents and local officials, we aim to protect natural landscapes, promote sustainable growth, and enhance recreational opportunities that reflect the vision and values of our community.
