King County Department of Local Services (DLS) recent activities and announcements:

DLS Status (August 17, 2025 update)

• Project Website Launched – A mini-site is now available to keep the community informed and involved

• Join the Listserv – Volunteers and residents are encouraged to sign up for updates

• New Planner Coming – A new team member joins on July 14, with more staffing updates to follow

• Upcoming Engagement – Conversations with Fairwood community members will start after July 14

• Market Night Presence – DLS will be at the Fairwood Market Night, July 9, August 13, September 10, and October 8 to survey the local community

• Community Wide Meeting - This Fall – A scoping meeting and related survey will be planned

• King County Consultant Outreach – PRR will engage service providers based on community input.
